Vetiver Gets 'Tight' With Sub Pop
Jan 8, 2009
Story by: Michael Tedder

Virginia folk-pop group Vetiver will release its fourth album, and Sub Pop debut, Tight Knit, on February 17. The album was recorded at Sacramento's The Hangar and LA's Melva, and was produced by longtime Vetiver collaborator, Thom Monahan. Guests include Eric Johnson (the Shins), Jonathan Wilson, "Farmer" Dave Scher and Adam Peters. Veviter is based around the songs of leader Andy Cabic, and by all accounts the new album should be as pastoral and tranquil as would be expected for a band named after a type of grass, with some moments of sunny, upbeat pop thrown in to keep things lively.
