 THE LUCY SHOW: ...Undone
Nov 10, 2000

The Lucy Show wear their influences openly, drawing from `60s and `80s British invasion bands, yet without sounding derivative. Most notable is the Julian Cope/Teardrop Explodes feel to many of the tracks, due for the most part to Cope's producer Steve Lovell, who mans the controls here. The vocals, shared by founders Mark Bandola and Rob Vandeven, also fit that style, occasionally recalling Cope and Ian McCulloch. Musically, Bandola's and Pete Barraclough's guitars weave around each other in clever figures, giving distinctiveness to their dense modern guitar pop. Definitely a band to watch. Top cuts: "The White Space," "Undone," "Ephemeral," "Rememberences, ""Dream Days."
