The beloved cult novel/film High Fidelity is set to hit the stage as a Broadway musical, a move that could see Rob belting out his Top Five Least Favorite Showtunes or Dick and Barry arguing the merits of Can in-key. Slated for a December release, the musical will be brought to you by the producers behind Avenue Q and songwriters Tom Kitt and Amanda Green who wrote the play Rabbit Hole. Walter Bobbie, responsible for the successful revival of Chicago, will direct, but as of yet, there is still no announcement of a cast or exact date of its Broadway debut. The play will have a "tryout enagagement" in Boston from September 26 through October 22 at the Colonial Theatre. Whether this stage-show will make your list of essential theater or ideas that never should have left the table is still up-in-the-air, but if the cast decides to break out into the 1980 Elvis Costello tune that gives High Fidelity its name, it has our support. http://www.playbill.com/news/article/99267.html
