ATP NY Adds To Festival Lineup
Jul 14, 2009
Story by: Emily Parliman

The All Tomorrow's Parties (ATP) music festival has added new bands to the lineup of its September fête. Most notably, Sufjan Stevens will now be performing on Saturday—his first US show in over two years. Fans will likely get a preview of Run Rabbit Run (a re-arrangement of his 2001 release, Enjoy Your Rabbit), which is due out this October via Asthmatic Kitty. Also added to Saturday's roster is Steve Albini's eccentric rock trio Shellac.

Even more artists have been added to Sunday's lineup, which was co-curated by special guests the Flaming Lips. New additions include Super Furry Animals, Crystal Castles, Boris and Low Lows. Also just announced is “Oneida Presents The Ocropolis." Onieda, the genre-defying Brooklyn quartet, will transport the impetus, spirit and community of their multidisciplinary studio/performance space, the Ocropolis, to ATP for a full day of improvisation, collaboration and recording—combining the creative work of the astounding Mighty Robot Visuals lighting crew with the spirit of the band's typically raucous live shows.

Though rooms at Kutsher's, where the festival is held, are now sold out, a limited number of rooms are still available at the nearby Raleigh Resort. Better act fast... accommodations and limited single day tickets are sure to sell out soon. The Friday single day pass is $75, while Saturday or Sunday single day passes are $95. Tickets for the full festival are $235, and bus travel is also available, including day tripper and weekend passes that include hotel stay. Full details can be found on the ATP website.
