Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Greg Laswell will follow up last year's full-length, Three Flights From Alto Liddo, with a new five-song EP, Covers, which will be released on October 6 via Vanguard. Covers is literally filled with exactly what its title implys: covers of songs by artists from Echo And The Bunnymen to Kate Bush. Laswell is no stranger to cover songs—he also recorded a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" for the Confessions Of A Shopaholic soundtrack last year. Laswell plays all the instruments on his latest release, and he produces the EP himself in a cabin in Mountainaire, Arizona. Other bands covered on the new collection are Morphine, Mazzy Star and Kristin Hersh. Track List For Covers: 01. Killing Moon (Echo And The Bunnymen) 02. In Spite Of Me (Morphine) 03. Take Everything (Mazzy Star) 04. Your Ghost (Kristin Hersh) 05. This Woman's Work (Kate Bush) www.myspace.com/greglaswell www.greglaswell.com
