Prolific songwriter Ryan Adams may have taken a hiatus from music at the beginning of this year, but that hasn't stopped his creative output. Adams, while best known as a musician and writer, has been quietly developing as a visual artist, and will debut a new collection of his original paintings and mixed media collages at the Morrison Hotel Gallery's Bowery space (313 Bowery) on September 23. Starting three weeks before the opening, Adams will also become the Morrison Hotel Gallery’s first artist in residence, creating additional canvases in the front of the gallery to be auctioned off at the opening.
