After a brief stint playing shows with Built To Spill, Wolf Parade and the Pixies and a May appearance at Canada's Over The Top Festival, Calgary, Alberta bedroom-studio maestro Chad VanGaalen is ready to release his second album, Skelliconnection, August 22. Using both conventional guitar and piano, as well as some homemade instruments, his new album gives more of the folk/synth/post-punk fusion that was so well-received on his debut, Infiniheart. An amalgamation of quiet ballads and pop-infused hooks, the 15-track collection shouldn't disappoint and is versatile enough to be perfect for that sunny day on the beach or a quiet night alone.
