Legendary L.A. punk band the Germs have announced a tour featuring most of the band's original members and actor Shane West. Germs members Pat Smear, Lorna Doom and Don Bolles have signed on and, since a movie currently in production (What We Do Is Secret) stars West as Darby Crash, the actor will join them, handling frontman duties. West is best known for his recurring role on ER and his starring role in the teenage sobfest A Walk To Remember. Crash committed suicide in December 1980, just a day before John Lennon was murdered. The band has a series of West Coast Warped Tour dates planned along with various club dates in the US and Canada. They have been playing songs from their 1993 release, The Germs: Complete Anthology (MIA), since obtaining West on vocals. The three original members were consultants on the film and played at the wrap party with West on the microphone, saying on their website that, "Those in attendance were blown away—not only by the insane punk rock apocalypse that still happens when Pat, Don and Lorna play those songs together 25 years after the ball, but also by Shane's intense performance and uncanny similarities to original Germs singer Darby Crash."
