Blakroc Records is offering up an alternative to spending the day after this Thanksgiving in a tryptophan-induced coma or hip-checking strangers at Wal-Mart. On November 27, the label created by Ohio-based blues-rockers the Black Keys and hip-hop impresario Damon Dash will release BlakRoc, an album produced by the Keys that featuring performances by them as well as a slew of well-known hip-hop artists. The duo enlisted help from contributors including Mos Def, Q-Tip, Ludacris, RZA and numerous others, and the album features only live instruments and vocals (i.e., no sampling). New content will be added to the album's official website every Friday until its release, so check back often for further details. Track Listing for BlakRoc: 01. Coochie 02. On The Vista 03.
