Eccentric folkie Robyn Hitchcock will release a concert film and live album, I Often Dream Of Trains In New York, on November 10 via Yep Roc. The film, which originally aired on the Sundance Channel, was shot live at Symphony Space in New York City in the fall of 2008 and was directed by John Edginton (The Pink Floyd And Syd Barrett Story). As you'd expect from the willfully odd Hitchcock, the packaging will be fancy as well: the first 500 copies will feature a working phenakistoscope (a slide-machine like device which can be used to make an antique form of animation), with artwork by Hitchcock. If you'd rather watch him in the flesh rather than on the screen, he's got some tour dates coming up, starting today at the Austin City Limits festival.
