Dan Andriano, co-singer and songwriter for Alkaline Trio, is stepping out for a handful of solo shows. Performing under the name the Emergency Room, Andriano will play a Detroit show with former Vagrant labelmates the Get Up Kids and a Chicago show with Asian Man Records head Mike Park. He will also play alongside Superdrag at the Highline Ballroom in New York as part of the CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival. Future plans for Andriano are undecided, but don't be surprised if these shows lead to a solo album. "I am writing to let you all know that I will be playing some shows next month under the name the Emergency Room… Maybe someday this will become a band, I do not know. What I do know is that for these shows, I will be all alone," Andriano wrote on his Myspace blog. "I've been working on a lot of new songs and I'm pretty excited to get out and play them... And yes, I'll probably be playing a couple Alkaline Trio songs."
