Third Man To Release Exclusive White Stripes Outtakes
Oct 16, 2009
Story by: Michelle Lee

Jack White's label, Third Man, will release outtakes from the White Stripes' debut 7-inch, Let's Shake Hands, which was recorded in 1998. This new release will mark the first time in the band's 10-year career than any outtakes from any past recordings will be released. Alternate versions of "Let's Shake Hands," as well as its B-side "Look Me Over Closely," will be made available exclusively to subscribers of The Vault, Third Man's online subscription service. In addition to the outtakes, subscribers will also get some exclusive Raconteurs material as well: a double-LP 180-gram vinyl gatefold of the band's 2008 live performance in London. To round out the Jack White musical trifecta, Third Man will also throw in a limited-edition, Rob Jones-designed, screen-printed Dead Weather poster.

This exclusive release is the second installment of giveaways from Third Man to The Vault's platinum service members. The platinum service also regularly provides subscribers with exclusive vinyl and a limited-edition shirt or screen print every three months. This platinum service also gives subscribers access to audio and video previews, pre-sale concert tickets, early entry to shows, live-to-video performances and direct contact with Third Man artists. Registration for the service is opened for three weeks; it started October 1 and will end October 22.
