Brazilian funk rockers Bonde do Role (don't even try to sound it out; it's pronounced "bonn-juh doo ho-lay") have signed to Mad Decent, record label of producer/DJ/film enthusiast Diplo. Rollingstone.com hailed Bonde do Role, which translates to "The Rollercoaster Band," as one of the top ten bands to watch in 2006, and bloggers everywhere have been posting their American-pop-culture-sampling songs faster than you can say, "That's good música." Diplo discovered Bonde Do Role on one of his many trips to Brazil, and they were the first act he signed to Mad Decent. The group's EP, Melo Do Tabaco, was the first release from Mad Decent, and their first LP, Vamos Do Role, is set to be released in October. "When I heard Bonde Do Role, a sort of baile funk Beastie Boys, I realized that they were a kind of beautiful mess," said Diplo of his new signees. "Bonde Do Role is a baile funk bastard, an anti band who doesn't need anything but a bootleg of Acid Pro and a few days to make an album and feel more confident and rock harder than Metallica onstage." Diplo likes them so much, he's taking them out on tour along with Cansei De Ser Sexy.
