NIN/Lostprophets Drummer Goes Solo
Nov 10, 2009
Story by: Pier Harrison

A limited-edition reissue of Coup, the debut album by Nine Inch Nails drummer Ilan Rubin's solo project New Regime, is out today. Rubin, who formerly drummed for Lostprophets, played every instrument (bass, drums, guitar, piano, vocals) on the album, which was originally released in 2008. There are 1000 copies of a collection that includes 180 gram vinyl, a CD, a DVD featuring live performances and an interview with Rubin, a 16-page, color booklet and an exclusive website link to download instrumental mixes from the band's website. That deluxe edition will cost $45. A stand-alone digipak CD version will also be available for $7.

Trent Reznor is offering a free download of a song from his bandmate's project on the Nine Inch Nails website, though the whole package is available for purchase only at the New Regime online store.

The New Regime will play at the Viper Room in L.A. on November 19 to celebrate this re-release.
