The JELLY Pool Parties, the summer concert series that was initially held at McCarren Park Pool and moved last summer to the East River State Park, are in trouble. According to the New York State Parks Department and the Open Space Alliance, the East River State Park may not be available for the 2010 summer series. Brooklyn-native New York Senator Charles Schumer is currently leading the fight to save the JELLY Pool Parties. The 2009 series, the fourth annual summer of JELLY Pool Parties, featured eight free concerts by Grizzly Bear, Girl Talk, the Black Lips, Dirty Projectors, Dan Deacon, Beach House, Simian Mobile Disco and others. You can pledge support for Senator Schumer’s fight to save JELLY by phone (212-486-4430) or by email (phil@schumer.senate.gov). http://thepoolparties.com/ www.schumer.senate.gov/
