Carissa’s Wierd Release Retrospective Comp
Mar 8, 2010
Story by: Marisa Aveling

Hardly Art will release a compilation of songs from the back catalog of defunct, iconic Seattle band Carissa’s Wierd, titled They'll Only Miss You When You Leave: Songs 1996-2003, on July 13. The 16-track LP spans the entirety of the band's near-decade-long career—at one point its lineup included Band Of Horses' Ben Bridwell and Grand Archives' Mat Brooke—and features tracks hand-picked by core members Mat Brooke and Jenn Ghetto.

In addition, Hardly Art is planning to reissue the band’s three proper albums—Ugly But Honest, You Should Be At Home Here and Songs About Leaving—to make its layered melodies and gentle sounds available both digitally and on vinyl for the first time. Although no dates are confirmed yet, Carissa’s Wierd will play select live shows in support of the July release.
