Lo-fi rocker extraordinaire Sparklehorse, aka Mark Linkous, will release his latest album, Dreamt For Light Years In The Belly Of A Mountain (Astralwerks), September 25. Coming out five years after It's A Wonderful Life, this new record includes collaborations with Christian Fennesz, Steven Drodz (Flaming Lips) and Danger Mouse. Sparklehorse's MySpace page includes a tracklist for the upcoming album and, according to their website, Tom Waits plays piano on a song originally recorded for It's A Wonderful Life. Tour plans are in the works, but for now, the group will join Tom Petty, Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation and the New Pornographers, among others, at September's Austin City Limits festival.
