Alt-dream pop guru Mark Linkous has announced that he and his long-running musical vehicle, Sparklehorse, will collaborate with super-producer Dangermouse on a proper LP. The two met after Dangermouse lent his production skills to Sparklehorse's latest album, Dreamt For Light Years In The Belly Of A Mountain (EMI), which was released just September 26. "There were some songs that didn't make it for the Sparklehorse album proper that we're going to use for Dangerhorse, then we're going to start on that record proper in a couple of months," Linkous told BBC Six Music. Dangermouse is riding out a busy summer, which found him contributing in the studio to new efforts by the Rapture and MF Doom, as well as moonlighting alongside Cee-Lo as one half of the immensely popular duo, Gnarls Barkley, who could probably enter the democratic primaries for president right now and be all but assured a victory. www.dangermousesite.com www.sparklehorse.com
