UK-based indie label Rough Trade has agreed to exclusively license several of their marquee new releases in the States through the World’s Fair label group. The terms of the agreement dictate that World’s Fair will oversee the marketing, manufacturing and distribution of select titles, including Jarvis Cocker’s upcoming Jarvis and the yet-unnamed forthcoming British Sea Power LP. Rough Trade founder Geoff Travis—who started the label in 1978 and has watched it become one of the foremost tastemakers in independent music—remarked that the project “represents an opportunity to show what Rough Trade can do to help foster the growth of independent artists and talented mavericks determined to improve the quality of all of our lives.” www.worlds-fair.net www.roughtrade.com
