Time travel may be lonely, but touring doesn't have to be! Analog recording artist John Vanderslice will be traveling the country with St. Vincent this spring, on a tour presented by Brooklyn Vegan. "This tour will be very special for me," says Vanderslice. "Dave Douglas plays drums and keyboards at the same time; it's pretty amazing. I play guitar a bit rowdier and noisier than usual. The show in general is looser and heavier." The tour will kick off next month in Portland, include an April 19 gig at New York's Mercury Lounge, and close out the road show back on the west coast in early May. "We're playing a lot of all ages listening rooms and we're going to a lot of cities we've never been to before: Birmingham, Hamden, Grand Rapids, Athens...," Vanderslice said. "There's nothing better than that." And incidentally, the duo won't stray too far from the information superhighway while they're hitting the asphalt - they will be posting many more of Vanderslice's own tour photographs (you can check out his Australian and European tour photos this week on his website) on Brooklyn Vegan's blog.
