The four-song Irony Is A Dead Scene EP is a brilliant, inhuman clusterfuck, featuring a cover of Aphex Twin’s “Come To Daddy.” Patton’s unpredictable improvisation expertly complements DEP’s schizoid, mathematical precision. In fact, the former Faith No More/current Tomahawk and Fantomas frontman’s vocal mania is right at home with DEP’s musical mayhem, injecting even some goofy unpredictability into Dillinger’s dry-humored, yet serious mania on this one-off release.
