As previously reported, WUVT student engineer Kevin Sterne was wounded in the Virginia Tech University shooting earlier this week and brought to intensive care at Montgomery Regional Hospital. According to Music Director Marcus Oliver, he is expected to make a full recovery. "The doctors say he's recovering quicker than expected and may be released sometime soon," Oliver says. "It is my belief that he is expected to make a full recovery. We here at the station are all amazed by his resiliency, and have resolved not to shave until he's out of the hospital, in honor of his powerful beard." The now-scruffy director says that Sterne is in excellent spirits, but may not understand the volume of the media coverage while insulated in the hospital. www.wuvt.vt.edu
