Slint Tweezing the Spiderlands Once Again
Dec 14, 2004

After curating a successful All Tomorrow's Parties gig in the U.K., Louisville legends Slint plan on taking its reunion show on the road this March. Formed by Squirrel Bait bassist Ethan Buckler and drummer Britt Walford after that influential band's demise, Slint recorded only two full-lengths (Tweez and the inimitable yet oft-attempted Spiderland) in the late-'80s/early-'90s. But these math-core pioneers left a resounding influence on the then-burgeoning college rock scene for years to come. Since its 1991 breakup, David Pajo and Britt Walford have been Slint's most active former members; Pajo (a.k.a. Papa M/Aerial M/M Is The 13th Letter) has played with Tortoise, Zwan and various Will Oldham projects, and Britt Walford enjoyed a brief stint in the Breeders. Catch these scene-starters:
