According to the New York Post, the kids at New York University are going apeshit for the new class “Classic Punk And Beyond”. The seven-week course is being taught by musician and music journalist Vivien Goldman, and rumor has it the course filled up in just a few days. The students will get to meet the man who signed the Ramones, Seymour Stein and others scene luminaries, including GQ’s “Style Guy” Glenn O’Brien, Patti Smith guitarist and author Lenny Kaye, underground filmmaker Joly, and hip-hop icon Fab Five Freddy. The bonus question on the final: Name one person who’s actually sat on the toilet at CBGB.
