Kaiser Chiefs Cancel US Gigs
Sep 12, 2007
Story by: Rachael Darmanin

Kaiser Chiefs have canceled their upcoming US tour, stating that the band is in need of focusing on writing new material, rather than their nine-city tour that stretched throughout September. Two dates, however, are still good to go—this weekend's gig at the Austin City Limits Festival and their show in New York on September 29.

"We'd like to apologize to fans in America and Canada, especially those who have already bought tickets, but something has to give," said drummer Nick Hodgson in a statement. "We've been extremely busy all year and had no time to focus on the future. We plan to have new material out as soon as possible and we've wanted to record all summer." Let's hope this desperate need to record is worth the trouble.

Tour Dates For Kaiser Chiefs:
09/14 - Austin, TX - Austin City Limits Festival
09/29 - New York, NY - Beacon Theatre
