At their noblest, music- and social-networking websites like MySpace unite people for good causes. On November 10, the site, along with some of music's most generous acts, will bring music fans together to spotlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Africa with the second annual Rock For Darfur Series. Artists such as the Decemberists, Hot Hot Heat, NOFX, Fall Out Boy, Suzanne Vega, Eisley and more will donate proceeds from their previously scheduled shows to Oxfam International and the Save Darfur Coalition. This money will be used to help provide those in Chad and the Darfur region with clean water, shelter, blankets, soap and disease-prevention programs. This year's series will span across Australia, Scotland, South Africa, New York, California and Texas, encompassing 32 separate concerts overall. According to MySpace, last year's 22 Rock for Darfur concerts raised over $50,000 for relief efforts.
