The artists formerly known as Yah Mos Def are now simply the YMD, after the artist currently known as Mos Def successfully petitioned MySpace to remove their page. But what's in a name anyway? The YMD are moving on, and will release their debut full-length, Excuse Me, This Is Yah Mos Def, February 12 on My Pal God. Ok, so maybe they are still stuck on the name. Nonetheless, the duo has met with success, and has shared the stage with the likes of Flosstradomus and Matt And Kim. The ten-track release is built on samples from bands including Bikini Kill, Minor Threat and Shipping News, and though no concrete plans have been made, the band is looking to tour in the near future.
