Last week, social networking behemoth Facebook created an informational page called "Music on Facebook" that guides musicians and bands through creating their own Facebook Music Pages. Last November, Facebook launched its new music-oriented feature, Facebook Music, which will allows artists and labels to post and sell their music and merchandise. The profiles, which are free to create, can include such expected applications such as a music player, photos, videos, band discographies and MusicShop, which allows an artist to sell their own products. There is also an iCast that allows groups to post bulletins to their fans' profile pages. Fans can also use Facebook Music to rate and review songs, which stream in their entirety. Users can currently embed an artist in their Facebook Mini-Feed, but no individual songs. www.facebook.com
