New York Doll, Greg Whiteley's documentary about the legendary New York band which inspired a generation of punk music, will open in New York and L.A. theaters on October 28 (it will see nationwide release on November 4). The film, which graced this year's CMJ FilmFest, follows 55-year-old Arthur "Killer" Kane, bassist and founding member of the New York Dolls, in his life post-Dolls as a recovering alcoholic and converted Mormon. The film tells the story of the band up to the present day, including the events of the Doll's 2004 reunion show, and features interviews with Morrissey, Mick Jones, and Bob Geldof. www.new-york-dolls.com sundance decription of film
