Stones Throw, the left coast label responsible for Madvillain, Quasimoto, Jaylib and many other permutations of Madlib's mind has quite the lineup scheduled for the '06. Here's a breakdown of the records they are working on for next year: Madvillain - MF Doom is currently working on the follow up to 2004's much-lauded collabo with Madlib at an "undisclosed location." The record is scheduled to appear in early 2006. Jay Dee / J Dilla - The Detroit beat magician behind Slum Village, Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul has an instrumental record titled Donuts dropping February 7. Put together while Dilla was recuperating from medical ailments, Stones throw will release two promo-only 12"s to radio DJs to hype the release. The first, the "Donut" EP, will be out in December with six tracks from the album edited by beat junkie J. Rocc for radio-friendliness. The second 12" will feature the tracks "Louder" and "Pandemonium" with verses from Oh No and Roc C. Percee P - The rhyme inspector will have a new record entirely produced by Madlib dropping in 2006. The title and release date is up in the air right now, as Madlib is still working his magic on the production tip, but Chali 2na, Aesop Rock, Vinnie Paz and Diamond D will all be featured guests. The initial release will come packaged as a double CD, with the original record on the first disc and an entire remix record put together by Madlib on the second. It'll be like the indie version of a screwed and chopped mix (though with Madlib at the helm, "crumbled and smoked" might be a better term). Roc C - A Stones Throw homie who has been kicking around the crew for a while now, his untitled debut is scheduled for the second quarter of next year. Oh No will be handling the majority of the production, with some contributions from DJ Romes and Kankick. Check out his latest single featuring the tracks "Unborn" and "Don't Stop," out now. Dudley Perkins - Like Ray Charles on PCP, Dudley's second album of bizarro crooning will see release in the first half of next year. Madlib will make all the beats, as he did with Dudley's first record. Oh No with Galt Macdermot / Madlib with Melvin Van Peebles - As CMJ previously reported, Oh No will be putting out a remix project of Galt MacDermot's music, and Madlib will be putting out a collaborative double album with Melvin Van Peebles. Both projects are scheduled for the first half of 2006. PS - Anyone ever get the sense Madlib is a machine, not a musician? That dude grinds more than Paul Wall and Mike Jones combined.
