Chad VanGaalen, the latest bedroom singer/songwriter on the Sub Pop roster, will release a DVD of animations set to his music in the latter part of 2006. VanGaalen is an accomplished illustrator as well as a musician, responsible for all the album art on his debut, Infiniheart, as well as the animated video for the single "Clinically Dead." Currently doing an artist residency at New Brunswick, this Calgary-native has a closetful of his lo-fi basement tapes he is hoping to draw from for his sophomore release. It is unclear yet whether his second album will be the same thing as this DVD project, or exactly when it will come out, because when CMJ reached out to Sub Pop's Publicity and Marketing Director Steve Manning for more information, he replied, "I don't have any information other than it is coming out sometime in 2006. I think we are more likely to have a date in or around August... I suck!"
