Seattle-based rippingly muscular metal duo Big Business has just kicked off a month-long tour with Relapse heavy-hitters High On Fire. Joining this sludge-inspired double bill through America are Ottowa's dark hardcore group Buried Inside and L.A.'s the Bronx. This steaming 28-date tour runs deep into February, bringing an almost painful amount of burly ruckus to towns across the US. On last year’s Head For The Shallow, Big Business refined the legacy started by bassist/singer Jared Warren in his previous band Karp. With the drumming of Coady Willis (formerly of Murder City Devils) playing very large drums with very large sticks and Jared's commanding shrieks, the duo replicates and at times surpasses the full-bodied heaviness of their mentors, the Melvins. Rumor has it, the Business-men are at work with Buzz and Dale of the Melvins to form a gestalt band that promises to be more bludgeoning than either one alone (see the doctored photo of the Big Business guys pasted onto ex-bassist Kevin Rutmanis' body at the Melvins' myspace page for proof).
