Budding supergroup, Clues, have announced their upcoming debut album, to arrive in the spring of 2009 on Constellation Records. Members Alden Penner (Unicorns), Brendan Reed (Arcade Fire), Ben Borden, Lisa Gamble and Nick Scribner are obviously well established in the Montreal music scene, but the band has kept a low profile, operating without a website or a Myspace or Facebook page. Yet their energetic live shows and well of experimental pop songs have already gained them an enthusiastic fan base. Clues spent much of 2008 building and launching VillaVillaNola.com, an online music store with recordings by Canadian artists. They will spend the beginning of November on a mini-tour up the US east coast.
