Ex-Unicorns members Nick Diamonds and J'aime Tambeur have lined up a label, release date, and a few tour dates for their new project, Islands. The album, Return To The Sea, will be out on Equator Records in North America on April 4 (pushed back from the previously-reported date, March 21). The album will be out on Rough Trade in Europe sometime after. Return To The Sea features a long list of guest musicians and friends of the band. Of course, Islands are from the Paris of the Americas, Quebec, so their guest list is pretty outstanding. Said Diamonds in an interview with CMJ: "J'aime and I made [the album] ourselves and we were trying to fill it out with certain instruments and friends, getting people who were in town and people from bands, like Wolf Parade—Dan and Spencer from Wolf Parade came in and played on the record, and Regine, Richard, Tim, and Will, and Sarah from the Arcade Fire came in and played on the record. Jim Guthrie played on the record and is now playing with us. He's gonna be with us." Other musicians from Wooden Stars, A Silver Mount Zion, and Belle Orchestre also added to Return To The Sea. Islands, unlike the lean, streamlined Unicorns, has seven musicians of its own, who will all be crowding stages across North America come mid-February. Tracklist For Return To The Sea: 01.
