Elvis Costello is the most recent artist to have his career celebrated by Decades Rock Live, a concert series broadcast on VH1. His episode, which will feature tribute performances by Death Cab For Cutie, Fiona Apple and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, as well as a set by Costello himself, will be taped May 19 at Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. Tickets for the show go on sale this Saturday (March 11) at noon. Decades Rock Live has previously toasted Lynryd Skynyrd, the Doors, Cyndi Lauper, Bonnie Raitt and Heart. As for Costello, he has a busy spring ahead of him, with the recent release of My Flame Burns Blue (Deutsche Grammophon), a live recording of his 2004 performance with the Metropole Orkest at the North Sea Jazz Festival, and a planned symphony tour behind Il Sogno, his classical ballet score, which kicks off later this month in San Francisco.
